Donna Carik, 61, Bismarck, went to heaven on April 28, 2015 She died at her home after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, ND with Rev. Paul Becker as celebrant. Burial will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Berlin, ND on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 1:00 pm.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 1, 2015 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Donna Mae Wald was born August 1, 1953 to Stanley and Irene (Aberle) Wald in Napoleon, ND. She grew up on the family farm in Berlin, ND and graduated from LaMoure High School in 1971. She married Curtis Carik on November 9, 1979. They made their home Bismarck for many years where they raised 2 sons, Taylor and Cody.
Donna worked as a sales person for a beauty supply company and a couple of gift companies. She became a territory sales manager for Evergreen and her career excelled. Travel was a huge part of her life and she established many long lasting relationships with her customers. Donna loved flowers and gardening and their back yard was evidence of this. She would love to sit in the back yard and entertain her family and friends. Family and friends were very important to her, she made them all a big part of her life.
Donna will be deeply missed by her husband, Curtis, Bismarck; sons, Taylor (Erin) Carik, Minneapolis, Mn and Cody Carik, Charlottesville, Va; 1 grandson, Henry; her father, Stanley Wald, LaMoure, ND; sisters Mary (Irv) Kuch, St. Cloud, Mn and Joyce Wald, Owatonna, Mn; brothers, Alvin (Diane) Wald, Berlin, ND and George (Irene) Wald, Dickinson, ND.
Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Irene in 2005.
