Donald Schneider

Donald F. Schneider, 61, Northwood, passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2023.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Ascension Catholic Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Nick Schneider as celebrant. 

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Rosary and Parish Vigil at 6:30 PM.

Donald was born December 6, 1961, to Harold and Norma (Maas) Schneider.  He was born, raised, and educated in Aberdeen, SD until the family moved to Bismarck in 1974.  Donald graduated high school in 1980 and entered the United States Marine Corps.  After ten weeks, he was discharged from the Marine Corps.  Donald moved to Arkansas where he worked many years for Walmart.  He enjoyed nature and fishing, monster trucks and tractor pulls, NASCAR and any racing, and working on cars.  He was a mener of the NRA.  Donald moved home to North Dakota and moved in with his brother, Jim, six months before he passed.  He said, “It is time to come home.  It is time.”  His cat, Max, and Jim’s two dogs are still looking for him to come home.

Donald will be deeply missed by his parents, Harold and Norma, Bismarck; sisters, Roberta Schneider, Minot, Antoinette Schneider, Bismarck, and Tina (Jack) Eagon, Rhame, ND; brother, James Schneider, Northwood; nieces and nephews, Rev. Nick Schneider, Mandan, Douglas Eagon and his children, Sloane and Nathan, Bismarck, and April Eagon, Dickinson.

Donald was preceded in death by his grandparents; brother, Richard; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Following the service, the family invites you for lunch and fellowship in the church cafeteria.
