Diane I. Heck, 69, Mandan, passed away June 21, 2016 at her residence in Mandan surrounded by her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 24, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a CDA Rosary at 6:30 pm followed by a Parish Vigil at 6:45 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you.” Proverbs 63:8. It was daybreak Tuesday, June 21st, when our Lord called Diane to Himself just as He promised. She was a woman of courage beyond measure. Diane Irene Heck was born on June 28, 1946 to Pevis and Anna (Kary) Heck in Mandan, ND. She was raised in Mandan and graduated from Mandan High School Class of 1964. Diane graduated from the University of North Dakota. She was the former RSVP Director, taught elementary grades at Solen and Nebraska, she was the first Volunteer Director at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, an Insurance Agent at Midwest Insurance and with the North Dakota Public Retirement System where she retired after 23 years.
Diane was an avid reader, an astute political analyst, a competitive card player, warm hearted, funny, serious, and a good listener. She loved trees and flowers, kids, cats and especially God. She was generous of heart, constant in faith and she possessed a strong and courageous spirit. Diane was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Eagle’s Auxiliary and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Diane will be deeply missed by lifelong friend, Mary Mann, Mandan, ND; sisters, Lena George, Woodbury, MN, Darlene Beehler, Lovelock, NV, Kathleen (Bob) Wainright, San Diego, CA and Bobbie (Chuck) Keller, Bismarck, ND; brothers, Joe (Agnes) Heck, Baker City, OR, Leslie Heck, Mandan, ND, Donald (Marge) Heck, Bismarck, ND, Ray (Marge) Heck, Mandan, ND, Art Heck, Mandan, ND and Terry (Jessie) Heck, Helena, MT along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Luellan George and Ralph Beehler and sister-in-law, Jeannie Heck.
The family of Diane wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Tarek Dufan and staff at the Bismarck Cancer Center also Deacon Randy Frohlich for his support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church Trust Fund or the Bismarck Cancer Center.
