Delanor Schwartz

Delanor P. Schwartz, 79, Mandan, died January 23, 2020, at a Bismarck hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mandan, ND.  Burial will be at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 PM.  Visitation will continue at the church for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Delanor was born February 19, 1940, in St. Anthony, N.D., the daughter of Adam and Minnie Kuntz. She was raised and educated in the St. Anthony area. On November 2, 1968, she married Edward Schwartz in San Pablo, California.

Delanor and her sisters managed the Mandan Country Club for four years. She also ran the concessions for Bismarck Parks Park and Rec for 22 years.  She completed her career at the Mandan Care Center as a Dietary Chef.  She enjoyed trips to the casino with family and friends.  Her greatest pride was her family and she loved family gatherings.  She disliked her appointments but enjoyed the lunches with family members afterwards.

She is survived by her sons, Marlon of Mandan, Jeffrey (Natacha) Schwartz, Scott (Kim) Schwartz, both of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Alexis, Reachel, Taylor, Payton, and Dylan; one great-grandchild, Krystina; one sister-in-law, Katie Kuntz, Linden, CA; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Delorse Schwartz, El Sobrante, CA, Agnes Sneed, and Yvonne and Eugene Fleck, all of Mandan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; one great-grandchild, Zoey Rae; six brothers, Libe, Herman, Joe, Ralph, Bill and George Kuntz; and four sisters, Shirley Gangl, Diane Jahraus, Leona Ressler and Ann Schwartz.
