Deb was born in Mandan on December 14, 1956 to DeLoyd John and Irene Baer. She married her high school sweetheart Keith Suchy on June 6, 1975, shortly after graduating from Mandan High School. Deb joined Keith in operating the family farm. Together they had four children. After 26 years working alongside Keith milking cows, working the land, raising their children and homemaking, Deb pursed her college education, graduating from Medcenter One College of Nursing with a Bachelor of Nursing in 2001. She worked at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, first in Telemetry and then in the cardiac cath lab.
Deb was known for her smile and special care as a wife, mother, nurse and friend. She loved to garden, quilt, sew, cook and bake. She was known for selflessly helping others, typically through beautifully decorated cakes for important events, a pan of apple bars just to say she cared, or by providing a listening ear or needed advice. She was always ready and willing to tackle any challenge, from learning her role as a farm wife to attending college at age 40. Family was extremely important to Deb - she lit up talking about her 12 grandchildren and enjoyed spoiling them.
Debra will be deeply missed by her husband Keith, children and grandchildren - Sara and Jason Asbridge along with Skyler, Ivy, Sadie and Isabelle; Brad and Megan Suchy along with Ethan, Tyler and Jacob; Leslie Pearcy along with Adelyn and Samuel; and Mark and Laura Suchy along with Hunter, Mia and Jocelyn.
Deb was preceded in death by her grandparents John and Amelia Baer and Elizabeth Ziniel; her uncle Floyd James Baer; father and mother-in-law Albert and Christine Suchy; numerous other aunts and uncles; and Godparents William and Jean Ziniel.
Given Deb's love of flower gardening we encourage those planning to send flowers to consider a perennial flower, shrub or tree that can be planted in Deb's flower garden or the family cemetery.
