Dale G. Lantz, 67, Mandan, died February 3, 2016 at Sanford Health in Bismarck.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, February 8, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Inurnment will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 1:00-4:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Parish Vigil at 4:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Dale was born August 26, 1948 to Carl and Lillian (Chyles) Lantz in Mandan. He graduated from Mandan High School in 1966 where was active in various sports including football and basketball. He was part of the 1966 ND State Basketball Championship team, which he was very proud of. He then went on to attend NDSU and Dakota Business College in Fargo. He married Georgene Dale on April 22, 1972. They initially made their home in Fargo and eventually moved to Bismarck. Dale managed Hertz Rent-A-Car and then worked at Eide Ford until he retired in 2014.

Dale enjoyed bowling, hunting, collecting coins, reading, watching sports, and spending time with family. He especially enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings and the NDSU Bison. Dale also played softball for over 30 years where he was again a part of several championships wins.

He is survived by his wife Georgene, Bismarck; two daughters Erica (Dustin) Meyer, Stewartville, MN; Reagan (Jason) Gagne, Minot, ND; five grandchildren Grace, Elleigh, and Hayden Meyer and Olivia and Finn Gagne; and several special cousins who were like siblings to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
