Cheryl A. Heck, 47, Lincoln, died December 28, 2015 at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Church of Ascension, Bismarck, ND with Msgr. James Braaten as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Cheryl was born on August 24, 1968 to Don and Marge (Zueger) Heck in Fargo, ND. She was raised and educated in Mandan graduating from Mandan High School. She went on to Minot State College and earned her degree in Social Work. Cheryl was on several State Social Service Boards, she was always an advocate for better elder care in our communities which she had made her life’s work. Cheryl also volunteered for the Lincoln Pet Rescue and would help find homes for homeless animals. She was a lector and usher at the Church of Ascension and a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. Cheryl especially enjoyed cooking, which she had great talent for. Family was always central in Cheryl’s life and she enjoyed the holidays with family get- togethers.
Cheryl will be deeply missed by her parents, Don and Marge, Bismarck, ND; special friend, Paul Halter; brothers, Brian (Val) Heck, Minot, ND and Darryl Heck, Eden Prairie, MN; 6 nieces and nephews, 7 great-nieces and nephews along with numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
