Celestina “Sally” Christl, 94, Bismarck formerly of Mandan died April 2, 2015 at the Baptist Home in Bismarck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Sally was born on September 29, 1920 to Max and Eva (Winter) Miller in Flasher, ND. She was raised and educated in the Flasher area. In 1942 she married John Sehn in Flasher, John died in 1960 and Sally worked as a single mother to raise her children. In 1965 she married George Christl in Mandan. Sally lived a simple life and enjoyed gardening, canning, she was well known for her prize winning apple pie that she would make from the apples collected from her own apple trees and playing bingo and pinochle. She enjoyed traveling with her husband George.
Sally will be deeply missed by her daughters, Anita (Ernie) Seeman, Mandan, ND and Carol Cartwright, Bismarck, ND; son, Gary (Marty) Sehn, Valley, NE; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Ruscheinsky, Fargo, ND and Phil Ruscheinsky, New Salem, ND along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents; husband John in 1960 and husband George in 1990; infant son, Richard; grandson, Ernie "Punky" Seeman sisters, Verna (Pete) Hersch and Dorothy (Gedius) Hersch; brothers-in-law, Pete Ruscheinsky and Max Ruscheinsky; brothers, Max (Irene), John, Engelbert (Kathryn) and Emil (Frances) Miller.
