Carolina Deichert

Carolina Deichert, 92, of Raleigh, ND, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2020 at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home, Bismarck, ND.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 6, 2020 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Raleigh, ND with Rev. Dennis Schafer as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Flasher, ND.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 12:00 - 4:00 PM and Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 12:00 - 3:00 at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, ND.  Visitation will continue at St. Gertrude Catholic Church on Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 5:00 - 8:00 with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Carolina was born on February 22, 1927 to Isadore and Marian (Ripplinger) Kuntz in Shields, ND.

She was married to Albert Frantz who passed away on January 1, 1989 leaving 3 children, Albert Frantz, Jr, Wayne Frantz, and Sandy Howes.  Later she relocated to North Dakota and on December 30, 1992 she married Max M. Deichert and moved onto a ranch 7 miles south of St. Gertrude’s where she lived until presently.

Carolina was a proud member of the St. Gertrude Christian Mothers and the Catholic Order of Foresters.  She had a love for playing cards, crossword puzzles, jig saw puzzles, find-a-word, dominoes, marbles, and Chinese checkers.  She also loved cross-stitching, making quilts, and collecting angels.

Carolina will be deeply missed by her husband, Max; her children, Albert Frantz, Jr, Wayne Frantz, and Sandy Howes.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Frantz; four brothers; and three sisters.
