On the morning of July 10th, 2023, Calvin Bullinger passed away surrounded by his family. He was 60 years old. Calvin was born in 1963 to Adam and Lu Bullinger in Mandan, ND. He graduated from Mandan High School in 1981. In April of 1986, Calvin married Kimberly “Kim” Murrish, and together they raised 3 children.
Calvin was known by all as a hard worker, working two full time jobs for most of his adult life. He was a long-time employee of Dan’s Supermarket and the Mandan Police Department where most recently he worked as the evidence custodian.
When he wasn’t working, Calvin enjoyed building large and intricate Lego sets with his wife. His Lego collection grew to be displayed in every room of his house and his office at the Mandan PD. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and bingo on Friday nights with his brother, Gary. Calvin was incredibly grateful for the support provided by his medical staff, his family, and the community, including his brother-in-law and family, Rob, Renee, Isaac, and Morgan Murrish. His friends and family will remember him for his kindness, sense of humor, and strong work ethic.
Calvin is survived by his wife, Kim; his children, Casey (John) Totenhagen, Jamie (Lee) Zimney, and Jordan (Gabi) Bullinger; his grandchildren, Elsa and Henry Totenhagen, Adalee Meuth, and Augustus Bullinger; his siblings, Carn Meagher, Clair (Glenda) Bullinger, and Gary Bullinger; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Lu Bullinger and his brother, Chuck Bullinger.
An informal public celebration of life will be held at Signature Events at the Mandan Depot on August 5, 2023, from 3:30 to 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Mandan Police Department in memory of Calvin.
