Blaise Koch, 91, of Bismarck, passed away peacefully at St. Gabriel’s on May 8, 2021, after recently diagnosed with throat cancer. Gail and Tom were present at the time of his passing.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND, with Rev. Dennis Schafer as celebrant. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2021, from 5:00-7:30 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:30 PM.
Blaise was born February 3, 1930, at Shields, ND, the son of Louis and Aurora (Ternes) Koch. Together had a large family of 20 children.
He served in the Army during the Korean War and was stationed in France.
He moved to Flasher, ND, where he lived and worked most of his life with his wife, Mary Ann (Doll). They were married June 15, 1967, and had two children Gail and Tim.
Blaise will be deeply missed by his daughter, Gail; several brothers and sisters; numerous in-laws; and lots of nieces and nephews.
Blaise was preceded in death most recently by his wife, Mary Ann, who passed away this past November; and his son.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to one of the following: Veterans Organizations, Volunteer Fire Departments, American Legion, or Knights of Columbus.
Blaise was a lifelong active member of all of these until he was no longer able to do so.
