Betty Meuchel

Betty Meuchel, 78, of Mandan, passed away May 15, 2023, at Sanford Health, Bismarck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Fr. Fred Harvey as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 19, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Meuchel was born May 10, 1945, to John and Frances (Storick) Paul. On August 30, 1965, Betty married David Meuchel. Betty and David had three children, David, Douglas, and Deanne. Betty was a housewife while the children were young. After the children were older, Betty went to work for the capitol, the Diocese of Bismarck, and the Advocates as an office manager.

After her divorce, Betty met her boyfriend, Terrill Epps. Betty loved to collect things! She also loved animals and had many beloved pets throughout her life. She was eccentric and beautiful and will be missed by family and friends.

Betty is survived by her two sons, David and Douglas (Shauna) Meuchel; grandchildren, Austin (Alyssa) Meuchel, Colton (Jessica) Meuchel, Brenna Meuchel, Corbin Meuchel, and Raynna Meuchel; great-grandsons, Carson and Connor Meuchel; brothers, Richard (Loretta) Paul, and John Paul Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who were very dear to her heart.

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Deanne; her parents, John and Frances Paul; sister-in-law, Nettie Paul; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
