Beatrice was born on October 25, 1935 to Jacob J. and Pauline (Berger) Fleck on the family farm in rural Breien, ND. She was raised in Breien and educated in Mandan. Beatrice married William A. “Bill” Berger on June 30, 1953 in Solen, ND.

Our loving, kind, sweet mother was a housewife by trade and raised 15 children. She would always have them all dressed up anytime they left the house and always took pictures before leaving to go anywhere.

She loved to cook many German meals that she learned from her mother Pauline and mother-in-law, Rose; and was the best bread maker around. Her buns were to die for. Anytime she had a request from her children and especially her grandchildren for a German dish, she would make it in a heartbeat. It was always enough to feed an army. She was a very gracious hostess; there were many times when others didn’t have a place to go for the holidays, she would always say, “bring them home”.

Ma and Pa loved attending auction sales; they also enjoyed camping and fishing and they would go as often as they could. They were part of a pinochle club for many years and she looked forward to it every week. Her and Bill could cut a rug like no other, everyone just loved to watch them out on the dance floor; it always looked like they were floating on air. Above all else her family was central in her life and she enjoyed cooking during the holidays and all other times spent with them. She so loved getting visitors, especially her many grandchildren. Also, she did crocheting and sewing in her spare time and made many dresses and outfits for her children, grandchildren, and others.

Beatrice will be deeply missed by her family; daughters, Karen Rohr, Mandan, Jolene (Vern) Miller, Mapleton, Michelle (Robert Boehm) Berger, Melanie (Nathan) Schlosser, Nadine (Lance Belohlavek) Berger, and DeeAnn Jahner, all of Mandan; sons, Douglas (Diana) Berger, Duluth, MN, Darrold Berger, Glen Ullin, DeWayne (Katie) Berger, Superior, WI, Donovan (Jacki) Berger, Foxboro, WI, Dale (Marcia) Berger, and Dean Berger, all of Mandan; 36 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way; sisters, Emily (Joe) Schmidt, Bismarck, Gardine Haff, Mandan, Caroline (Matt) Magilke, Bismarck, Mary Bendish, Mandan, Pauline (Roger) Hatzenbuehler, St. Paul, Minn. and Edna Fleck, Mandan; her brothers, Lawrence (Joanne) Fleck, Portland, OR, Raymond (Joyce) Fleck, Jack Fleck, David (Sandy) Fleck, all of Mandan; her sisters-in-law, Helen Stein and Cecilia Geiger, all of Mandan, Agnes Vetter, and Anna (Clemens) Fleck, all of Bismarck; her brothers-in-law, Leonard (Alberta) Berger, St. Anthony, and Raymond (Diane) Berger, Mandan, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years who passed in 2017, William A. Berger; parents, Jacob J. and Pauline Fleck; father and mother-in-law, Heironymus and Rosa Maria (Emter) Berger; sons, Durwin, Delwyn and Darren; granddaughter, Megan Berger; a son-in-law, Tim Rohr; daughter-in-law, Connie Berger; her brothers, Florian Fleck, Daniel Fleck, Wilbert Fleck, her sisters-in-law, Tillie Schmidt and Regina (Joe) Monaco; her brothers-in-law, Richard Bendish, Peter Haff, Mathias (Katie) Berger, Joe Vetter, Lucas Fleck, Jerome Geiger, and Richard Stein; her grandparents, John and Veronica Fleck and Steve and Florentina (Dauenhauer) Berger.
