Anna Jochim, 91, Fargo, ND formerly of Mandan, died February 3, 2015 at Sanford Health Palliative Care in Fargo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Nick Schneider as celebrant. Burial will be held at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan following the service.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Anna was born 1 of 12 children on June 29, 1923 to Joseph and Eva (Neis) Gaab in Odense, ND. She married Joseph Jochim on October 30, 1973 in Mandan. Anna was a housekeeper at the Holiday Inn for many years and did daycare for her grandchildren.
Anna was known as a loving family oriented woman, who loved to cook and bake for her family. She was a tireless worker maintaining a household and is remembered as a mother and grandmother that never sat down. She also spent many hours helping the children with their school work with incredible patience and love. Anna and Joseph enjoyed many road trips together throughout the United States and would take many side trips to casinos as she loved her bingo and slots. She also loved card games and never turned down an opportunity to play a game of pinochle.
Anna will be deeply missed by daughter, Sandra (Terry Bosch) Erickson, Fargo, ND; sons, Darrell Hanson, Melvin and Ronnie Cruz; step-sons, Dwight, Gerald (JoAnn), Thomas (Carleen) and Robert (Carol) Jochim; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Meyer, Lidgerwood, ND; brothers, Joe (Vi) Gaab, Vallejo, Ca and Frank Gaab, Mandan, ND.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph on April 9, 2012; brothers, Martin and Matt Gaab and sisters, Pauline Berger, Julie Doll, Rose Schmidt and Katherine Wetsch.
