Ann Leingang, 90, Mandan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother entered into eternity on October 22, 2023, after a lifetime of loving and serving God and raising her family. She taught her family the Catholic faith and set an example of how to live it. She suffered patiently and without complaint these past two years. Mom taught us how to live and has now taught us how to pass into eternity, thank you Mom.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with Fr. Fred Harvey celebrating. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday, October 26, 2023, with a rosary/parish vigil at 7 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Ann was born March 1, 1933, in Flasher, ND to John and Eiprosina (Ternes) Miller. She was raised and educated in Flasher. On June 15, 1954, Ann married Richard F. Leingang. She worked at the Mandan JC Penney store from 1951-1955 and again from 1968-1975. In 1983 she started a daycare in her home which she continued until 2001. Ann was a member of Christ the King Christian Mothers, The Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima, Catholics United for the Faith, and the Mandan Citizen's Awareness Committee.
Mom loved getting the family together, especially for holidays and providing a feast, she was a tremendous cook and baker. When you said you were full, she'd say "eat for the hunger to come".
Blessed to have shared in her life are her daughters, Mary (Curt) Simons, Alice (Lenus) Berger, and Arlene Oster; daughter-in-law, Kelly Leingang; and sons, James (Donna) Leingang and Gerard (Tammy) Leingang; 16 grandchildren, Clint (Chelsey) Simons, Shannon (Lee) Barth, Thomas (Ceisha) Leingang, Sarah (Justin) Davis, Tyler (Breanna) Leingang, Alyssa (Cody) Symanowski, Dallas (Jami) Berger, Rena (Tyler) Johnson, Hope (Nick) Dumas, Amy (James) Covington, Kyle and Kayla Leingang, Heather Trehus, Devin Leingang, Tonya Leingang, Eric Leingang, and Kayla (Dax McDaniel) Mangan; 23 great grandchildren, Aleesha & Hadley Simons, Scott & Owen Barth, Brooklyn, Kylee, & Trevor Leingang, Austin Leingang, Izzy Davis, Emmett & Lauren Leingang, and soon Vander Symanowski, Gage & Dasia Berger, Jules Johnson, Camden & Halle Dumas, Aliviana & Everly Covington, Scarlett Leingang, Isiah & Kenadi Trehus, and Akira Leingang.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Richard Leingang, in 2012; son, Paul B. Leingang; parents, John & Eiprosina Miller; brothers, Stally, Leo, and Pius Miller; sisters, Legotda Miller, Lydia Torkelson, Edvina Fredrickson, Agnes Makelky, and Sister Rose Miller; and son-in-law, Tim Oster.
Ann's family wishes to thank the team at St. Vincent's Care Center for their kindness and care during her time there.
