Ann Marie (Hoff) Becher, 78, Mandan, passed away May 8, 2016 at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday,
May 11, 2016 at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Msgr. Chad Gion as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Ann Marie was born on February 17, 1938 to George and Rose (Schaff) Hoff in Morton County, ND. She was raised and educated in Mandan, graduating from Mandan High School in 1956. Ann Marie married William Jennings on March 17, 1959. Ann started her career as a flight attendant for then Northwest Airlines. Ann enjoyed traveling; she had many adventures and stories of the years. Ann worked at Sears in Bismarck, ND for many years. Ann married Walter Becher on January 14, 1975.
Ann being strong willed, nurturing and caring continued on in farming and as a CNA at Elm Crest Manor in New Salem. Having a green thumb, Ann always had a beautiful yard, flower beds and garden. After her retirement, Ann loved to read, garden, bake, sew, volunteer at her church, listen to music and watch western TV shows and western movies. She and her daughter Valerie would spend time together by heading out and exploring on long drives. Ann found the strength and she cherished the visit she had with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ann will be deeply missed by her daughters, Michelle Becher, and Valerie Becher; grandchildren, Kylie (Levi) Lockwood and Courtney Jennings; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Brandon Lockwood and Tanier Jennings; brother, Bill (Peggy) Hoff, Waterloo, IA and brother-in-law, Greg Zander, Ft. Collins, CO.
Ann was preceded in death by daughter, Patricia Jennings; brother, Robert Hoff; sister, Carol Zander, parents, Rose and George Hoff and her first husband, William Jennings.
Ann’s family would like to thank all the CHI St. Alexius doctors, nursing staff and all other staff for their care and support of our Mom.
