Alouise was born to John and Magdalen (Brown) Jochim on February 21, 1924 in Flasher, ND where she was raised on the family farm.
In her early years she taught in a country school during WWII.
On June 18, 1946 she married the love of her life, Anton “Tony” Michlitsch, in Flasher, ND. They farmed south of Mandan before moving to Flasher.
Her love of cooking won several cooking contests, especially her famous hamburger soup. She also enjoyed cooking family’s favorites, homemade chicken dumpling soup, caramel rolls, and buns. Also, she enjoyed gardening, playing trivia and cards, and bird watching out her picture window.
Christmas was always a very special to her growing up in a loving home and continued when she had a family of her own. Blessed with a big heart and a love of children, she provided daycare in her home after her own children were grown for many years.
Ellie will be deeply missed by her children, John (Sharon) Michlitsch, Fargo, ND, Karen (Iain) Hodge, MN, Barb (Mike) Kaplan, NY, Tony (Michele) Michlitsch, Minot, ND, Joyce (Ken) Eckroth, OH, JoAnn (Nick) Moser, MN; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and her brother, John (Kathy) Jochim, Flasher, ND.
