Agnes Kopp, 82, Mandan, passed away November 3, 2017 at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. David Zimmer as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Agnes was born August 2, 1935 to Jacob Boehm and Katherine (Erhardt) Boehm in Oliver County, ND. She was raised and educated in Morton County, ND. Agnes married Anton (Tony) Kopp on November 16, 1953 in New Salem, ND. They farmed southeast of Judson most of their married life and raised their four children there. Agnes also worked as a waitress and cook at Sunset Inn in New Salem, ND for several years. Tony and Agnes enjoyed many camping/fishing trips, along with traveling in their mini home. She also cleaned the rectory at St. Pius Church in New Salem for a time.
Agnes spent many hours as a volunteer at the Golden Age Services, West River Head Start, and serving luncheons at Christ the King Catholic Church. Family was important to Agnes and she loved attending sporting events, dance recitals, music programs, and plays of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Agnes was a wonderful cook and made excellent German recipes, buns, Baska, and great dill pickles. She loved gardening flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed playing cards with her lady friends and going out to eat. She especially loved little children. Agnes will be missed by all those who knew and loved her wonderful and generous spirit.
Agnes will be deeply missed by her children, Linda (Wade) Schulz, New Salem, James Kopp, Mandan, Bennett (Della) Kopp, Mandan, and Renita (Brian) Wrede, Bismarck; sister, Florence Kopp, Mandan; sisters-in-law, Karen Boehm, Bismarck, and Eileen Boehm, Mandan; step-sister, Maggie (Louie) Koch, Mandan; step-brother, Bernie (Dee) Neibauer, Mandan, 9 grandchildren, Cody, Justin (Allison), Jared, Jeremy, Jared, Travis (Shea), Lee (Alaina), Dawn, and Lauren; 9 great-grandchildren, Noah, Jensen, Hart, Freya, Macy, Evan, Madison, Luke, and Molly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Anton Kopp on May 21, 1993; her parents, her step-mother, Philomena Boehm; sisters, Mary (Alphonse) Meuchel, Rose (Jack) Schaff, and Bonnie (Adam) Klein; brothers, Connie (Maggie), Pete (Dorothy), Anton, and George (Judy); and brother-in-law, George Kopp
