Agnes was born on December 23, 1936 to Louie Koch and Aurora (Ternes). She was raised and educated in Shields, ND. Agnes married Urban Friesz on October 2, 1956. Together they raised 6 beautiful children in Mandan, ND.
Agnes was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother who always placed the needs of others before her own. Agnes was the first to join in any family event and loved to host slumber parties for her grandchildren where she spoiled them with an endless assortment of food and snacks. Agnes was very outgoing and loved to visit with people during her trips to The Aid, the bandshell and rummage sales all over town. Agnes was an excellent cook with her specialty being German recipes. She made all the wedding cakes for her children. She worked at Mandan High School and volunteered at St. Joseph Church where she was a member of the women's circle. She was a devout Catholic and spent many hours praying her rosary. She loved to dance and her hobbies included crocheting, gardening and refinishing furniture. Her great pride was providing for her family and grandchildren. Her legacy of love, laughter, and charity is carried in the hearts and lives of all who loved and knew Agnes.
