Mildred Graner

Mildred (Belohlavek) Graner passed away peacefully on March 14, 2022. She lived a life of joy, forgiveness, and love. Her servant’s heart touched many; she was always ready to lend a hand, serve a meal and share her smile, and open her home to others.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Bismarck, ND with Father Aune as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 PM.

Born on March 15, 1937, Millie was the daughter of Mildred and Anton Belohlavek of Mandan who farmed south of Mandan.

With her husband, Loran Eckroth, she had three children: Joan Riley (Joe), Dave Eckroth (Nancy), and Lisa Bauman (Bill). She enjoyed spending time with her 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She married Leland Graner in 1999 and was blessed to add to her family his children: Claudia, Louaine, Roger, Virginia, Rosemary, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Millie’s working career included being a school secretary at Mandan High School and medical transcriptionist before working her way from secretary to Parish Administrator of Faith Lutheran Church, a role she treasured for over 25 years.

She was active in ATEC (Adults and Teens Encounter Christ), Corpus Christi Building Committee, Stephan Ministries, Bridge Club, Parish Lector, funeral ministry, and Women of the Moose. Mille also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, cross stitch, cards, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is a source of joy, forgiveness, and love for all those around her, inspiring many to love as she loved.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Anton Belohlavek; brother, Anton; and niece, Shelly Belohlavek, and her second husband, Leland Graner.

Memorials may be sent to Corpus Christi Parish or the Alzheimer’s Association.
