Lorraine Mary (Sanchez) Verhaeghe Rinaldo was born on August 19, 1939, to Cruz and Patricia (Avalos) Sanchez. She was raised and educated in Denver, Colorado, where she graduated from North High School, Denver. Lorraine fell in love and married Gerald Verhaeghe and they had two boys, Jerry and Dan. Lorraine and her two boys enjoyed time riding horses, especially one by the name of Little Joe, who politely told them when he had enough by running them under the clothesline. They also took in a dog when he jumped into their brand-new Buick convertible and would not get out. When they made their way home the dog ran into the house and jumped on the brand-new couch Lorraine had just gotten that day and she exclaimed, “I guess we have a new dog!” Many hours were spent on the water as a family, and Lorraine always wore her life vest as swimming was not one of her specialties. Timing for Lorraine and Jerry just was not right, and Lorraine went on to marry “the love of her life”, Tom Rinaldo, on December 29, 1979. Lorraine and Tom lived in 13 states where Lorraine carried out her duties as a payroll tax auditor. She was blessed with four grandchildren and spent the last five years of her life in the Mandan area.
Lorraine will be deeply missed by her sons, Gerald Verhaeghe of Lakewood, CO, and Daniel (Becky) Verhaeghe of Mandan; grandchildren, Morgan, Jacob, Jessie, and Cheyenne; sister, Helan Seabrook; and brother, Andy Sanchez.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; great-grandchild, Laikynn Verhaeghe; and sister, Anita Taylor.
